The Put God First Challenge
Day 10: Prayer and Communication with God
Father,
What a privilege it is to come before You in prayer. You, the Creator of the universe, invite me to speak with You, to pour out my heart, to seek You in every moment. I don’t have to use fancy words or follow a script—You simply want me to come as I am. Thank You for being a God who listens, a Father who cares, and a friend who is always near.
Jesus, You taught Your disciples how to pray, reminding them that prayer is not about performance, but about connection with the Father (Matthew 6:6-8). So often, I complicate prayer, worrying about what to say or whether I’m doing it "right." But You remind me that prayer is not about saying the perfect words—it’s about being with You. Teach me to pray from the heart, to seek You earnestly, and to listen as much as I speak.
Your Word says that I should pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). Lord, I want prayer to be woven into my daily life, not just something I do in the morning or before bed. Let it be the first thing I turn to when I feel anxious, the way I respond when I need wisdom, and the habit that deepens my relationship with You. Help me to bring everything to You—not just my struggles, but my joys, my gratitude, and even the little moments in between.
Philippians 4:6 reminds me to bring my worries to You in prayer, with thanksgiving, and that Your peace will guard my heart and mind. Lord, I confess that sometimes I try to carry my burdens alone. I hold on to stress, fear, and uncertainty instead of laying them at Your feet. But You are always ready to listen. Remind me to turn to You first, to trust that You hear me, and to rest in the peace You promise.
Thank You, Father, for the incredible gift of prayer. Thank You for always hearing me, for answering in best ways, even when I don’t understand. Help me to grow in my prayer life, to deepen my communication with You, and to trust that every prayer I lift to You matters. No matter what today holds, I know I can come to You, and that is enough.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
