The Put God First Challenge
Prayer
Father,
My heart is overwhelmed with gratitude when I think about the gift of eternal life You have given through Jesus Christ. Your Word says that You so loved the world that You gave Your only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). This is the greatest promise, the greatest hope, and the greatest joy. Thank You, Lord, for preparing a place for me in Your presence, a place where I will dwell with You forever.
Eternal life is not just something I will experience after I die—it begins now, in knowing You (John 17:3). You have invited me into a relationship that is deeper than anything this world can offer. Help me to live each day with my eyes fixed on heaven, remembering that my true home is not here, but with You (Philippians 3:20). Keep my heart from becoming attached to temporary things and instead, let me set my mind on things above, where Christ is seated at Your right hand (Colossians 3:1-4).
Lord, I know that this life is fleeting, but eternity with You is forever. Your Word reminds me that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). I could never earn this gift, yet You freely offer it to all who believe. Let me never take this grace for granted. Instead, let me live in a way that reflects my gratitude and honors the sacrifice of Jesus.
Father, I long for the day when You will wipe every tear from our eyes, when there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain (Revelation 21:3-4). In moments of suffering, remind me that my trials are temporary, but the joy that awaits me is everlasting. When I feel weary, give me strength to endure, knowing that a crown of life is waiting for those who remain faithful (James 1:12).
Jesus, You promised that You are preparing a place for me and that one day You will return to take me to be where You are (John 14:1-3). What a glorious day that will be! Until then, help me to live with purpose, sharing this hope with others so that they, too, may come to know You. Let my life be a testimony of Your saving grace so that more people will come to trust in Your name.
Thank You, Lord, for securing my eternity in Your presence. My hope is in You alone. No matter what happens in this life, I can rest in the promise that nothing—neither death nor life, angels nor demons, the present nor the future—can separate me from Your love (Romans 8:38-39). I place my trust in You, knowing that my future is secure in Your hands.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
