Prayer

Father,

Thank you for the example of Jesus, who came not to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). Sometimes, my heart wrestles with selfishness, comfort, and distractions that keep me from serving others the way You call me to. But I know that true greatness in Your kingdom is found in humility and in putting others before myself. Transform my heart to reflect the servant-hearted love of Christ. Teach me to see people the way You see them—not as interruptions, but as divine opportunities to reflect Your grace.

Lord, You washed the feet of Your disciples, showing me that no act of service is beneath me (John 13:12-17). Help me to serve with a willing heart, not out of obligation but out of love. When I serve others, I am serving You (Matthew 25:40). Whether it's through small, unseen acts of kindness or larger sacrifices, let me do it all for Your glory. I pray that my hands would be quick to help, my heart would be generous, and my attitude would be joyful in every opportunity to serve.

Sometimes, serving others can feel exhausting or unappreciated. But Your Word encourages me not to grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time, I will reap a harvest if I do not give up (Galatians 6:9). When I feel unnoticed, remind me that You see every act of love, and You are faithful to reward those who labor for Your kingdom (Hebrews 6:10). Let me not serve for human recognition, but as one working for You, knowing that my true reward is in heaven (Colossians 3:23-24).

Jesus, You humbled Yourself, taking on the nature of a servant, and You call me to do the same (Philippians 2:5-7). Help me to let go of pride, selfish ambition, or any excuses that hold me back. Give me eyes to see the needs around me and a heart that responds with compassion. Whether it's feeding the hungry, encouraging the weary, giving to the needy, or simply listening to someone in pain, let me be Your hands and feet. Show me where I can be a blessing today.

Lord, I don’t want to just say I have faith—I want to live it out. Your Word says that faith without works is dead (James 2:14-17). Let my love for You be evident in my actions, not just in my words. Help me to serve not out of guilt or obligation, but out of gratitude for all You have done for me. I want to be a faithful steward of the gifts and resources You have entrusted to me (1 Peter 4:10). Show me ways to give generously, to encourage others, and to be a source of light in a dark world.

Thank You, Lord, for the privilege of serving. I know that when I pour myself out for others, You fill me up in return. Keep my heart tender, my hands open, and my spirit willing. May my life be a reflection of Your love, and may everything I do point others back to You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
